Acute prescriptions
Acute prescriptions can be collected from the surgery on the day they are ordered. The reception staff will advise you what time your prescription will be ready. Alternatively, acute prescriptions can be sent to your selected chemist and be collected within 24 hours (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays).
Repeat prescriptions
To request a repeat prescription, please call our dedicated prescription line between 10:00am and 12:00pm on 028 6656 0599.
Repeat prescriptions should be ordered 24-48 hours in advance (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) and can be sent to your nominated chemist. You may, on occasion, be asked to see your doctor before receiving further supplies of medication to check that all is well.
Antibiotics
Please note it is not our policy to dispense antibiotics over the phone. If you think you require an antibiotic, you must make an appointment to see a doctor.
Over-the-counter (OTC) medications
Paracetamol, ibuprofen, hay fever remedies and eye drops can all be bought over the counter. Therefore, you do not need to contact the surgery for supplies of these.
Local pharmacies can also supply a range of medications for the following minor ailments: cold sores, removal of earwax, mouth ulcers and inflammation, oral thrush, head lice, athletes foot, threadworms, vaginal thrush, diarrhoea, and Dhobie itch. These medications are free of charge.
